The Dutch Business Association in New Zealand is excited to invite you for a special event about Offshore Wind Energy. You will hear more about New Zealand’s energy dilemma and what role offshore wind can play in delivering more renewable energy. The Dutch and renewable energy have a long history – using wind energy to reclaim land in the 17th and 18th century to large scale deployment of wind energy onshore and offshore. Offshore wind developers recently discovered the potential of offshore wind in New Zealand as well. But what role can offshore wind play in an already high renewable energy mix, what are the global trends and what are the opportunities for New Zealand?
This evening, Aaron Webb and James Harper from PwC New Zealand will share the key findings of a recent national impact study on offshore wind in NZ, commissioned by a consortium of offshore wind developers, economic development agencies and infrastructure providers. Eugene Bajema, Project and Business developer at Pondera, an experienced Dutch renewable energy consultant and developer, (who originally set foot in NZ in 2006 for offshore Oil & Gas projects) will share his views on the opportunities for New Zealand in renewable energy and offshore wind.
This will be a great opportunity to learn about this interesting and current subject, meet experts and network with your business peers.
